Business of the week: Tony's Landscape & Tree Service

This week we sat down with Trent Wade of Tony's Landscape & Tree Service. This is a unique longstanding family business to Rome as it was founded in 1982 by Tony Womack, Trent's Wife's Grandfather.

What made you choose this type of business?

I’ve always loved working outdoors and with my hands. Doing something new everyday and making customers visions come to life.

What service(s) or product(s) do you offer/manufacture?

We offer all types of land needs such as sod, irrigation, retaining walls, seed & straw, planting, pruning, drainage, tree trimming, removal and land clearing/grading.

How do you advertise your business?

Over the past year I have had a billboard with Arthur Outdoor. Also google and Facebook are a big platform for our advertisement. Word of mouth from happy customers are our best outlets.

What is unique about your business?

Our years of knowledge and experience in our scope of work. Being in business since 1982 makes us one of the longest running businesses in our field in the Rome area.

To what do you attribute your success?

My customers and employees. Without happy customers we wouldn’t be where we are today. My employees for all their hard work and knowledge to get the work done safely and promptly.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out in small business, what would it be?

Start out small and stay within your means. Don’t try to come out the gate and be the biggest company around. Come out the gate striving to be the BEST company around.
